Hello, I haven't been here in a while, but I really need help on this one.
Last year my friends Evinrude 1989 48 hp spl would not charge. Then it started charging 14v.
Pull it out this year same thing
I changed the rectifier and checked voltages coming to it . 2 yellow wires were reading 4v each the 3rd 5v all AC voltage so I know the charging stator is good. I checked the Red wire 10v Dc this is at idle.
I'm running it on muffin and don't want to chance a runaway motor.
I'm wondering if it will go up in charge at a higher rpm. Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
