i have added a second battery usig a 0ff,1,2 all switch. what will be the best way to charge at home ? if i use a 2 bank charger where should i put the switch ? i'm thinking to off but dont know if this is the best way.

An on-board charger does not connect to the switch -- the outputs connect directly to the batteries so the battery switch does not enter the equation at all. You can set it to any position but as was suggested, OFF would be the logical choice since you are leaving the boat anyway.
