Changing throttle styles

I have a Morse style throttle and I want to switch to a throttle with a neutral advance. Is it cable for cable even swap? Or do I have to **** around with a buncha stuff

Are you sure the Morse does not have a fast idle feature ?

It does not. No button. If I move it forward it goes. Only one lever

Most controls have a feature for fast idle.

Mercury/Quicksilver Commander 3000 is an in bulkhead mount, hidden cables with a single lever and no fast idle to lift like the Commander 2000 that mounts on the bulkhead with the cables exposed and a visible lever to lift for fast idle.
To get fast idle with the 3000, With the lever in N, push in on the large black button and hold it in while advancing the lever forward. This disconnects the gear shifter cable. When ready to go about your business normally, return the lever to N and the button will pop out and you will be back in normal service.

So, maybe you haven't played with yours to find out its secret...thought about contacting the mfgr.?

I did not. I figured something was ******(edit) and I'd just replace it. I also figured I'd join a forum with hundreds of years of knowledge to ask a simple question..... can I replace my throttle controls cable for cable or do I need to **** around with a buncha **** depending on which one I go with?

There was a change in cable ends a few years ago, so whether you'll need to change the cables, depends on which controller you choose,.....

Did you spray some lube in yer control,..??
I'm sure it has a throttle only setting,.....
