changing the throttle control box

i think i need to replace my throttle control box, i read somewhere that a morse controller is cheaper at only 100 bucks, is it compatible with mine?

Controls are designed to work with particular engines.
So what engine do you have?
What Morse control are you considering?
Does that Morse control work with that engine?

2007 Volvo Penta 3.0L on a stingray 180rx bowrider. im not considering any specific controls right now just trying to figure out my options and having a hard time finding any info on what i have or what i could put in.

Look for a control that works for that Volvo outdrive. Most control OEMs will tell you that info.

Now look for a price you like on that control.

im having a hard time finding the information on what will work for this inboard/outboard motor. most everything i find is mercruiser

Well there are a lot more MerCruisers. Punch up crowleymarine or marineengine and see what they recommend for your V-P.
