Does anynoe have any idea what a v-6 engine and a pump might cost to put in my boat in place of the 4 cyl and alpha one outdrive? what would my current engine and outdrive sell for? Its a 2001 so its not very old. Thanks,tk.

Do you have the skills to rework drivetrains and do fiberglass work? You might be money and time ahead to sell the boat and get a jet boat. I am the last one to discourage doing a project, but I think this one, unless you can find an absolute kickin' deal on a jet drivetrain, would cost you thousands to pull off. You will need to modify the transom for the jetdrive (the jetdrive comes out lower than the outdrive of an I/O), you will need to modify the bottom for the intake, rebuild engine mounts, etc. None of it is impossible, just expensive. Good luck either way.

Ya, I hear ya. But, I work in a sheet metal shop and can use it anytime. <br />Got acess to TIG welder(boat is alum.) and any thing else I might need. The mechanics of it I think I can handle, some of the technical stuff I might need help with. I really like my boat(2001 Crestliner 1800 superhawk)But I still owe alot on it. to sell it an d try and buy something equivelant and stay in the price range would be tough.I dont know, Its just an idea that I've been kickin around.t.k

For new prices on complete setups for a jetboat, look up KEM Equipment on the net. They are the manufacturer of Kodiak Jet Drive systems. They supply many aluminum boat manufacturers' jet systems....
