CHANGE FROM LONG TO EXTRA LONG....

HELLO<br /><br />i made a change to the transome of my boat and my enginnear insist ( and he is right) to change my engine from a long model that i already have to a extra long or an xxl model....<br /> the numbers of the 200 hp mariner that i have ( the Model # 7200412DD and Serial # 0G153139 , its a 200hp long shaft Mariner outboard and was built in 1995.)<br />so please (if anyone knows) answer me if i can find the parts to make the long shaft to an XL or XXL ,how much does it cost per part and all of them ? can i use an shaft extention kit ? are there only original mariner or i can find cheaper oem?<br /><br />thanks a lot in advance<br /><br />dimitrios archolekas

Looks to me like the change can be made, but it'll be very expensive!<br />Drive shaft, shift shaft, mid section, and many other parts would have to be changed over, 5 to 7 hours labor too.<br />On a 10 year old motor, probably not worth the expense......

Need a midsection and lower unit with xxl driveshaft. Check Ebay, those Florida boys have 5" spacers for the midsections.....You will still need a longer driveshaft.

the one from bay manufacuring works ok. its a pain to install but it works.
