Went to 3 places today looking for J6J plugs for my motor. Struck out at all 3 places. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good equivalent plug? Thanks, Rick

Think J6C is what your looking for now Champion does not make the J6J anymore . Im sure the experts here will fill you in :)
I have a 1955 15 hp Fastwin and it has the J6C 's in it and it runs good :)

Two out of the 3 that I went to offered Autolite instead of the Champions and the 3rd offered NGK. Any difference? Rick

I still prefer Champion, and my least favorite is NGK

Comparing Champion, NGK, Autolite is a lot like comparing Chevy motors with Buick and Olds motors. Don't sweat the difference, especially in your motor.

Originally Champion J6J or Autolite A3X were specified.

J6C , gapped at 0.030", are the currently recommended plugs and the modern equivalent of J6J ... copper cored and all that stuff

A3X I believe are still available

B6S are the nearest equivalent NGK plugs

You might get lucky, but I betcha' that motor won't like the the NGK's. Save yourself the headache and find the Champions. IMHO..........Champion, Autolite, NGK.....like first, second, and third place finish.....;)

Couldn't find the Champions but picked up some Autolite 303's. Will see this weekend. Rick

Are they suitable ? I came up with 306 from an applications list?

303 is a heat range 3 plug. The recommended J6C are heat range 6

The Autolite website that does cross references shows them as direct replacement for the J6J and J6C. Rick
