I just recently acquired a 1980 16' Thundercraft Citation. Somebody had taken a piece of plywood and put it down on the floor between the seats. When you walked on the floor and the plywood, it would give like the floor was rotten, which it is. I pull the ply wood up today and found that there is a ?????, hole with an aluminum frame and a Teak platform that is removable and under it you can see the bottom, but it has carpet in it. Does anybody know what this is used for? I know it's not a holding tank, I'm thinking it's to allow water to run under the floor and to the bilge pump area. I'm not sure how to download a photo on here but I will try too.
I've owned 4-5 boats, but never have seen one with this in it.

Re: Center Floor

You all can forget about my question about the center floor, a friend of mine that works on boats told me what it was for :) and since I have never pulled skiers with any of my boats, now I don't fell stupid for asking the question. Since I never did get a reply to my question, maybe some other people don't know what it is for either. It's "ski storage".
So, thanks anyway
