Quit with the changing details. For your next usage, take a magic marker and draw a straight line across the rear of the prop hub, outer rim to inner. Get in and use it. Check the line upon your return. Still intact=ventilation. Broken line=spun prop.

How am I changing details? If your refering to the number of people, the reason I said about the only time I have had a third person in the boat is because they said to add my fat buddies in the aft portion of the boat. I figured that time is the most weight I have ever had in the boat at once.

Check your motor's height by looking at the Anti-ventilation plate(just above the prop).

It needs to be even with the boat's bottom. Neutral_trim.jpg

I am pretty sure that is what I just got done but will check tomorrow. Boat is in the water and trailer is at home taken apart so I can re-enforce it so I can take things in my boat.

Re: Cavitating???

May not be prop related at all.

How healthy is the engine?

Have you done a compression check and a spark check?

Hinting that it may not be running on all cylinders.

A description of the boat, aluminum vs fiberglass? weight of boat?

Make and model of engine?

A photo of the boat, with motor all the way down, something like this shot:

Engine runs perfect. Compression is over 120 psi on all and ha new spark plug at the beginning of the year. Fiberglass boat and the engine is a 1977 Mercury 500 Series Thunderbolt 50 HP and I don't have a photo of the boat like that sadly.

might have bought a boat with a 20" transom and a short shaft 15" motor on it. You need to get it out of the water or go swimming and see where the anti-vent plate sits relative to the keel of the boat.

Well after today I am lucky it is out, if you read my other form you will understand that. It looks to be in line with the bottom of the hull but will check in the morning.
