Just as tip when you install these, on the V8s at least there is a short bolt threaded into the block that is in line with the fuel pump pushrod. You can remove that bolt temporarily and use a longer bolt of the same thread to hold the pushrod from sliding down while you try to install the pump. This is a 60+ year old trick on Chevrolet small block V8s.
BUT MAKE SURE TO remove that longer bolt and replace with the original short one before cranking it over!
On the V6 for whatever reason the pumps are very similar but are mounted upside down from the V8 position. There is no bolt threaded into that part of the block, so you have to use thick grease to get that pushrod to stay up in the groove otherwise it will fight you for a while. Bad language will follow. It's a pain.
Lastly if you have metal fuel lines, thread the fittings into the inlet/outlet on the pump, before tightening down the mounting bolts all the way. This will allow the pump to move slightly so that you can more easily start the fuel line fittings without cross threading them. I do the same thing with the fuel line at the carb inlet, loosen the carb mounting bolts first so it can move slightly, this is all it takes for the fuel line fittings to thread on easily. You DON'T want to cross thread those!
