The carpeting on my boat is worn through and needs replacing. I live in Tampa, FL and want to use something other than carpet. What is the best option that will stand up to salt water and the sun and won't be too hot. The old carpet was directly over fiberglass.

Texture the deck with non-skid (Tuff coat, kiwi grip), or use gelcoat and add cabisol or other material and use a rough roller. Could apply things like seadeck, but the cost goes up. Mine came with snap in carpet and a textured deck, so I just removed the carpet

This company makes molds so it can be used to apply a pattern

check out line-x of sarasota. they developed a line of coatings for off-shore boats. it will survive nearly anything. https://sarasotalinex.com/category/marine-coatings/

seadeck is about $90 for a 37 x 80" section and is held in place with glorified 2-side tape. depending on the area, it may cost you as much as the line-x XS650

Fiberglass coatings in St. Pete has a variety of non-skid coatings that you can roll on or spray. if you use the webbing addative, its a spray application. if you use gel coat with the crushed lava rock, its a roll-on. https://fgci.com/products/34/Gelcoat/&Additive=Additive

Don’t bother with Durabak. That stuff is junk. If tou want a bedliner-like application, go with Line-X.
