I have a 1993 Chaparral 240 signature. Has anyone ever tried to replace the carpeting in the cabin ? Is it a big project ? The old stuff seems pretty tough to get off the floor and seats. Anyone have any tips on how to get this domne ?

There is No Easy way...... Just Rip,+ Tear.......

If the underlying surface is Gelcoated fiberglass,.....
After you've gotten All the Big Stuff Pryed Out,.....
An Angle Grinder, with a Wirebrush will remove the Glue residue.........

First, Have patience, and dont get fustrated. Unscrew, unbolt everything on the cabin floor that you can, and remove it. Get as much open space as possible. Its alot easier to tear the old rug out, and less cutting when installing the new one. If its warm out you might want to use a fan, or try to rig an air conditioner in the cabin to keep you cool. Remember the word "Fustration"? You'll be able to think better if you're not sweating like a pig ripping out the rug. Once the old rug is out I'm sure there will be scraping and sanding to get the glue off. I dont know what you mean about the seats, do you plan on having them reupholstered? Like Bondo said, "there is no easy way" But if you keep calm, and cool headed, it will be just abit easier. Good Luck
