Carburetor

I have a 50 hp Yamaha 2 stroke that sneezes when throttling up and 9 times out of 10 cuts off. Any suggestions ?

Clean the carbs,
sounds like it is running too lean and cannot transition properly to high speed under load

Thank you I will do that. I cleaned the carburetors and ran the boat in the lake. It hesitates a little bit when throttling up but it’s better.

did you follow the link and sync procedure in your service manual after putting the carbs back on after cleaning?
checking to make sure the timing is in spec at idle and advancing as it should is part of that
