Carburetor Main Jet

[OSGF]

I'm pretty sure I'm not getting any fuel through my carburetor on my 1990 35 hp Evinrude. I've rebuilt a lot of Honda carbs before, and I did all the things to this carb that I would normally do: check/replace gaskets, spray carb cleaner, shoot compressed air through it. One difference though. The main jet does not seem to come out. Does anyone know, is it somehow sealed or otherwise stuck in there? I can't for the life of me figure out why fuel isn't getting through the carburetor. It used to run fine. When I used to prime it, a little fuel would trickle into the bore. Any ideas or suggestions?

By the way, fuel is getting into the bowl and into passageways in the top part of the carb where the low speed needle is as well.

i believe it takes a special screwdriver tool to remove the jet. did you soak the carb overnight when you rebuilt it? sometime even compressed air cant get through some of the crud that builds up in fuels systems.

I'll try soaking it and taking the jet to the dealer to see if he can remove it.

If you already have expanded the soft brass by using a tapered screwdriver, you may never get it out. The harder you try to turn it, the tighter it gets. The correct tool has parallel sides on the blade so it doesn't spread the brass.

I actually tried to pop it out through the bore like you do on a Honda carburetor, but it quickly became obvious that wasn't going to work. It doesn't look like anything got bent or misshapen.

Maybe the piece I'm referring to isn't the main jet. It's not in your attached image. I'm talking about the long, thin brass piece which extends from the top of the caburetor, through the bore, down into the bowl and has a wider brass sleeve around. On Hondas you reach into the bore with a screwdriver and press down on the brass sleeve in order "pop" the assembly out.
