Carb trouble HELP

I have completely overhauled my 1964 merc110 9.8hp. I am having trouble with my Carb adjustments. It seems I cannot get enough fuel to the engine. I also noticed at the top of the float bowl there is a small hole where fuel is emerging. I have tried to start engine and could not get to fire. If anyone has any suggestions it would greatly be appreciated.

Does your choke work? Sure you have good spark at the plug? Checked compression? <br /><br />Is the fuel coming out of the float bowl or a hole in the top of the carb?<br /><br />I think you need to dip your carb over night in some carb cleaner if all those other things check out.

My choke works, I have good spark and compression. I have rebuilt entire carb, tried to start and would not run. I still have excessive amounts of fuel coming out of the hole in back of float bowl. HELP

It's possible you float level is too high and flooding it out. Too much gas. Or you needle in the carb is sticking.

I have adjusted the float level to the correct level. Gas is still flooding carb. Engine not turning over.
