Re: carb synchronizing

Hi there to syn your carbs is not needed as long as they all open up together or very close when you open the throttle.....

Re: carb synchronizing

If it runs fine, they are most likely ok,and don't need to be synced. But if you have had problems with lean-running carbs, by all means, take it to a marina that has gauges.
If one is running too lean, it will damage the cylinders it supplies over time.

Re: carb synchronizing

Good morning Double-O and Kent,
As a rule we never resync carbs unless we have known problem or have taken the carbs off for a major repair. But Kent, syncing the carbs is not really based just on there opening together. It is really a measure of the amount of vacume pulled by each cylinder. You use the (normally) #1 as a base and macth the rest of the cylinders to it. For example if #1 is pulling 10 lbs at idle then I would adjust the other carbs to 10 lbs also then they would all be sync'ed.

Hope this helps,

Hitman
