Hi All,

1988 Evinrude 30 WRL

The carb is pretty trashed. It looks to be a type "B" (or type "IV, depending on who published manual; Seloc or Clymer) carb with a linkage-type choke [as opposed to a primer pump].

I have another carb in decent shape from 1985 E30 that has the primer pump instead of choke. The carbureter bodies are identical, except for a few features:
1. Trashed carb has slot-head plug in front of high-speed orifice. Replacement carb has plug with male fitting for hose from primer pump.
2. There's a fuel hose connected from bypass cover on powerhead to intake manifold. On the engine that I'm taking the good carb from, that hose doesn't exist (nor is there any male hose fitting on bypass cover) but one of the hoses off the primer pump assembly junction goes to the intake manifold.

My question is, can I plug up the bypass assembly fitting, install the good carb and primer pump while connecting one of the primer pump hoses to the intake manifold fitting? (I'll need to change the hose size to get it on intake manifold plug; it's different on primer pump then original hose)

Appreciate any guidance!
-J
