Carb hoses on 1990 OMC 3.0

My new-to-me boat was born with a 1999 Vovlo 3.0, but now has what appears to be a 1990 OMC 3.0 (yellow paint-pen markings on it). My assumption is someone didn't winterize right and broke the block. When they installed the replacement engine, they seem to have carried some parts over from the Volvo -- the distributor is electronic, not points, there is an engine-mounted raw water pump, etc.

My issue has to do with hoses to the carb. There are two coming from the valve cover, one (with a PCV valve) from the front going to the flame arrestor, one from the back going to the bottom back of the carb body, and one from the fuel pump (the leak detector hose) going to ..... uh... the bilge! (From what I gather, it should go somewhere on the carb). I suspect this all has to do with the transferring of parts from one engine to the other.

All the pictures of the the valve cover I can find show the front hole isn't supposed to be a hose, it is supposed to be the fill cap (I don't have a fill cap). I can't imagine why I have/need two hoses going from the valve cover to the carb.

My plan, unless I hear a problem with it, is to:
* Move the PCV valve to the back hole, and connect it to the flame arrestor
* Put a proper oil fill cap in the front hole
* Connect the fuel pump leak detector to the back of the carburetor body

Is this how it should be set up? Does this make sense?

Thanks!

The hose coming from the pcv valve should go to the flame arrestor. The one from the bottom of the fuel pump should go to the bottom hole on the carburetor and the second one from the valve cover should not be there. That hole should have a cap on it and it is there so you can add or change oil.
Looks to me like somebody got the flame arrestor off a six cylinder engine and wondered what to do with the two hose setup on those,
