Hello All,

I've got a 1995 Sea Doo GTI and I was wanting to use some carb cleaner on it.

I bought some Gumout Injector/Carb cleaner and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with using Gumout on SeaDoo jetskis or if someone has had any experience cleaning a SeaDoo carb?

thanks,

Run a 2 stroke lean at 10,000 RPM's and see what happens.

The stuff works ok on a lawnmower. It can save a carb that is slightly gummed up if you can still get some flow through the main jet, it'll clean it up. But I would never try it on a 2 stroke or any other high revving engine. You'll be rebuilding it soon after

Thanks guys,

I just spoke to my neighbor that has restored a dozen or more jetskis. He said the same, "never put that cleaner in your jetski." Then he told me to run it for an afternoon at the lake, making sure it spends time at full throttle, and if it hesitates at all, he'll rebuild the carb for me.
