Going to check carbs. Going to verify stator, regulator, and trigger first. The carbs are a pain to get off, will save them for last. Lol.

sounds like fuel problem - you have checked your timing- had a problem once engine would not get up to speed and died- I replaced black fuel lines with plastic fuel lines- make sure they are safe with fuel- i noticed air in fuel line when running full throttle- make sure you have a driver this can be dangerous- it was not the fuel pump. Some kinda bug had made a coccoon in the gas fitting of the fuel tank. No idea what kinda animal can live in gas
Or you could put a see thru fuel filter and basically do the same thing. Not saying its a bug but one never knows next would be carb sychronization

Is the timing set right ?? Carb rebuilt with a good carb rebuild kit ?? The kits will give you the correct carb setting to start with. Will your spark plug leads jumpva 3/16" gap with a nice blue spark ?? Yellow spark means a weak spark. Just some things for you to check...

One thing you can try that's easy to do and might give you a clue. Get the boat on the water and make it do it then push in the key engaging the enrichner/choke. If the rpm jumps you know it's a lean carb issue

Most likely stator or switchbox dropping under load..will show fine on a hose

Is there a test procedure for that? Can I do it at the lake still on trailer? In the 20's and 30's here, too big a pansy to run up and down the lake!

It seems trigger was the issue. Replaced and took out yesterday and back to running fine again. I appreciate all the help. Unfortunately, now it is time to winterize...
Thanks again!
