Re: Canoe speed

Try Doelfin, cheap, works well, will pop you up on plane fast, adds stability, and decreases steering torque(not much on a 5 HP anyhow). Been watching your project with a skeptical eye and am glad it is working out for you. Now that you got it all rigged up, was it worth it? Seems like alot of effort and $ has been put into it. Think you may have been better off just selling the canoe and buying a jon or such already setup?<br />Anyway...enjoy!

nah.. it's all in fun, i've got a zx190 that i dont use due to the EXTREMELY LOW water levels in the lakes here in north carolina, i bought this to tide me over until we got some water down here.. i feel it was worth it, i've had the canoe for a little over a year, and this is the first time i've really used it. now that's i've got an outboard for it, i'll probably use it more often, there are some lakes around here that won't allow engines larger than 10hp and there are a ton of fish in there too! Besides, can you find me a jon boat with a 1000lb weight capacity for 700.00 :) I couldn't.. Maybe i was looking in the wrong places. I can haul myself, and two friends around, all my decoys oh, and some weaponry for duck season and for deer season, and fishing. I"m not hauling a bloodied dead deer on my skeets carpet :)
