I have a crack in my canoe that isn't leaking but would like to know the best way to repair it. Any help would be appreciated.

See attached pics

I can't tell - is that plastic or some other material?

You could sand it down alittle, then fill it with epoxy and sand and paint. I'm not a 100% sure it will work in that area tho. someone will be along shortly with more detailed info. good luck.:)

Re: Canoe Repair

If it is 'glass' (FRP) then the best repair is from the inside (the crack doesn't look typical for FRP though). Grind down in a tapering fashion so there is almost no material thickness left where the crack is, then rebuild with a patch of new layups of glass & resin. I would use a progression of enlargening size pieces of glass.
