Re: Canadian Customs
Never had a problem going into or out of Canada until one trip we had our grandchildren with us. Had two ID's for them too, but got took into the office on the US side and asked what seemed like a hundred questions about where we were from, where we were going, etc. Finally got down to whether we had both parents permission to take kids to Canada. Gave them parents telephone numbers at Fort drum, NY. They made calls and cleared us to pass after telling us that there were a lot of instances of custodial disputes and family members taking kids to Canada to get them away from one or the other. That's what it was about. A good practice, but in the future, we always had notarized permissions when we took the grandkids into Canada.
