UPDATE: Routing the wires back to the battery only didnt work. The fish finder still blacks out on wot, but depth readings stay solid. Is this an electrical noise issue or transducer adjustment issue?
Lowrance says its normal after 20-30 mph that the screen losses image.
However, I seen a youtube video of a guy on a jetski going 50mph and still getting a clean image.

What do you mean by "still" and what do you mean by "black out"? I thought you had noise problems at idle.

if you are getting noise on your screen at high speeds, its due to turbulence, air at your transducer and is not an electrical problem.

By means of comparision, my Humminbird 597 Ci HD DI on the transom of my 15 ft Lowe tinny with a 40Hp Evenrude stays locked in at full throttle (33MPH on a good day). Admittedly, it took some tweeking the settings to get there, but (at least last time I ran it, in the river which is at most 10 ft deep) it finally stayed locked on throughout the throttle range. Point is, not that the HB is any better, but that a degreed engineer with some underwater accoustic and electromagnetic interference background took about a month (or 6 to 8 trips to the water)to get it dialed in. It is not an trivial task to get these new finders dialed it. I am not entirely sure mine is set right yet, but I have a good starting point now. I know that HB has a phenominal support staff on one of the other boards (Bass Boat Central). I would imagine that Lowrance would have to provide similar quality support in some way or go out of business quickly. Frankly if the depth readings are trustworthy, at high speeds that is probably a great start.

Good luck!
