Here is a photo of an outboard motor, somewhere between 20 and 70 horsepower, manufactured by a major manufacturer sometime in the past 20 years. This is the only motor I have seen, that looks like this.

Can you ID it?

Just for fun, give us a guess.
A free ada-boy to whoever can get it right.

OK, I'll add another photo to help you out.
This should narrow it down to 1 of 3 brands.

well it doesn't look like a J/E fuel pump. is that a single carb on a three cylinder.

Hmmmm. Cross scavenged triple with a single carb. Gotta be low HP, 20-30.

Could that be a Tohatsu?

I'm guessing an older Nissan/Tohatsu 25-30 HP, 2-stroke

Come to think of it, some of the mid-nineties Johnny/Rudes were 3-bangers in the 25-30 HP range. I think they had single throats too.

Re: Can you ID this motor?

Well, I've already checked some of the online Tohatsu manuals, with no luck.
Not saying it isn't there, but I can't find it.

So, how long do we let this go on before I reveal the make-model-year. ?

I even looked at non-US market stuff. Two strokes are still being sold throughout the world, except here.

The 3 cylinder Evinrude/Johnson 25/35hp used 3 carbs, mounted to the side.

As for this beast...Maybe from the Farce line

OK, here you go.

1996-97 Force 25 hp

jimmbo, close enough. ada-boy.

I don't know, and can't figure out where its origins are, who made it, or designed it.

Always wanted to get one just for the heck of it, but it is a rare bird and parts are not likely to be made aftermarket.

Here is a link full of photos.

Re: Can you ID this motor?

only 92 pounds? Wow.....My OMC 15 weighs close to that; about 80 pounds if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't mind having one either; just for the oddness of it.

Is the leg similiar to other Force engines? Is it just the powerhead that's unusual?
