I keep one eye on the birds around my bird feeders. Just before some kinds of storms come through the birds seem to be desperate to stuff themselves with food. The fish also seem to binge a little at the same time. That's my excuse to drop everything and run down to the lake.

I see it like this.....I have a clock on my bar, it says " No drinking before 5", the hands somehow got stuck at 7 minutes after 5...go figure. My feelings are Fish when you can, enjoy mother nature, leave the environment better than you found it, and don't be a ramp idiot. My wife and I went out last Saturday, we saw 1 bald eagle catch a nice redfish, several ospreys and 1 aligator catch and eat a small mullet. We caught a few fish as well. No trouphies. Who cares. Having a boat is a close to freedom as you may ever get. Enjoy it. Watch the western sky and the birds, they will tell you when the fishing is good!

hey red rider,If you want to fish inside go to oaklahoma they have docks on the lake with little houses on them,inside the house is a big opening that everyone fishes in.They have chairs all around the hole from an old movie house.The peope there love to catch crappies there.<br />Well enough of that,Ill tell ya crabbie my father always told me if there is a northeast wind stay home.He never told me about the baromoter and he never got skunked as far as I can remember.<br />My favorite saying is my worst day at fishing is better than my best day at work.
