Hi , I have a 14' alluminum fishing boat with sub floor, I have replaced the carpet twice now and I am pondering the idea of using cedar instead, 1,4 or 3/8/ slabs side 2 side on existing ribs, any thoughts on this

Welcome to iboats Dry Dock.

I take it you're after the cedar for rot resistance? Just use 1/2" or even 3/8" (depending on how the supports are spaced) plywood and cover both sides with a layer of CSM and resin and it'll be there for years to come.
