Can I use this drive???

I have an '88 OMC 3.0L with a good motor but bad upper drive unit.

I found an '88 OMC 5.0L with a bad motor but good upper drive.

Can I use this or no???

What if I bought the entire 5.0L outdrive? Would that bolt on to the 3.0L???

Will bolt up but youd have to change prop to help with dumped up gearing which in turn would be cost of prop and unit to not funtion like it should.Rebuild your unit.
