VP SX-M style transom set up.i don't have an alignment tool but do have a spare u joint shaft assy. i would like to leave the o-rings off and use it to check alignment.

You can get the tool on Ebay for about $50 usually. It is highly recommended to check the alignment each year when you winterize the boat and pull the drive to check bellows, gimbal bearing etc...

The alignment tool does not have the splines. This helps you determine if the alignment is up or down by being able to see the marks in the grease on the end of the tool.
