Hi.
I have a '79 Evinrude 140 with tilt/trim.
I saw a thread that was disgussing this. Is it advisable? I have pleanty of ATF on the shelf. And if so, does it have to be any specific type?
Thanks, John

Factory manual for 1995 model says use OMC tilt/trim hyd oil or ATF Dexron III as an alternate. Not sure I would mix the two different oils though without verifying compatability.
Good luck

Thanks, Angus63.
I appreciate your advice. If I go with the Atf, I will be sure to completly drain the system of residual fluid.
Thanks, John

I use the ATF dexron III when my supplier is out of the OMC TNT fluid.
