Can I use an 'R' trim pump with an 'MR' outdrive?

I may be replacing my Mercruiser 120 (cracked head) with a 140. The 120 is setup for an 'R' out drive and the 140 is an 'MR'. I have the inner transom plate and gimbal assembly to convert to the MR. However, I don't have the trim pump that came with that setup. The 'R' trim pump is mounted to the inner transom plate currently and I don't see a similar mounting location on the MR.

Can I use the R trim pump with an MR outdrive if I make a new mount for it?

Thanks

What do you mean the "R" trim pump is mounted to the transom plate? Are you sure you aren't referring to the trim sender being mounted to the transom plate? The R used a high pressure, low volume trim pump, and I think the MR used the same.

I may be using the wrong terminology. Here are a couple of pictures of what I call the trim pump.

You can likely by the pump base bracket online (ebay) for pretty cheap.

I am pretty sure those pumps are interchangeable. If they are both tilt pumps. Doesn't your R have a trim pin. Does the MR?
