I just got done painting my hull with valspar implement primer and it is taking forever to dry!I was wondering if I can use an acrylic enamel over this once it drys?I am under the impression that the acrylic will dry faster and there are more color options.I know about hardeners but I am opting not use them because I do not have a supplied air respirator. Has anyone here used pearls or flakes in an acrylic enamel clear? One more question ,is implement going to be better or the same as acrylic in durability for the hull?

Did you use reducer in the paint? How long has it been on? Oil based paint without reducer or hardener can take up to 72 housr to dry to the touch and up to 2 weeks to fully cure. The Implement paint is designed to be used with a reducer and the Hardener. You do not need an air supplied respirator to spray the Implement Paint with the Hardener. A good quality full face respirator with proper filters is adequate. I sprayed my 15' hull with it with no problems. I would not try adding pearls or flakes in acrylic enamel clear. The Implement paint will be as durable as the acrylic if you don't add hardener to either.
This link has some good info.
