Are you intending that the electric pump just pump fuel or mix oil with the gasoline? if you want it to just pump fuel, you can likely rig up something. You will want to look up the normal fuel pressure specification and match it. if you want the pump to mix in the oil, you have a real issue with the design and operation of the pump. The OMC VRO pumps mix oil with gas by volume, based on pump diaphram movement. It will be hard to calibrate the pump to do this

You are asking for a great deal of trouble installing an electric fuel pump on a two stroke motor. The key issue is safety. Consider this. Your engine dies because a float, inlet needle, or seat is not functioning properly. Unless you turn the key off, that pump will fill the engine up with fuel and hydrolock it. Then there is the worse scenario where you have an accident or fire. There is no way to shut the pump off unless you remember to turn the key off. Electric pumps are used on four stroke and FI two strokes because they need higher pump pressures. On four strokes an oil pressure switch controls the pump. No oil pressure -- the fuel pump quits just like on your car. On a two stroke the computer shuts down the pump. A standard vacuum/pressure fuel pump minus the vro can be fitted to the engine to do what you want to do -- safely.

86 was the first 200 VRO . they skipped 84 & 85 with the 200hp , 1983 was the last year of the premixed 200hp they used 2 fuel pumps, in line it looks like 388555 & 389440. go here and look up the 1983 and 1986 200 hp.

I want to remove the VRO pump from my 1986 200 Evinrude. Does anyone make the pump without the oil pump side just the fuel pump?

You should consider all the good advice and opinion of all the suggestions in the two posts that you have made; however, if you still want to use an electric pump, read some of the information at "http://www.screamandfly.com" you will find information for use of an electric pump.

They are used quite often by people that rig race boats.

tigersharkcrazy:
Is the VRO not pumping fuel? If the VRO is still pumping fuel properly and you're just looking to premix and not use the oil side of the VRO I believe you can just plug the oil inlet line at the VRO and start mixing. This is what I've done with my 1985 90HP Evinrude and it works fine
