Cam for SBC 350 early model non roller

Morning,
Can anyone give me guidance on what to look for on a camshaft,

Boat is 92 wellscraft 230 costal 23foot , weight is around 6,000, vp dp190a 1.95gearing,

SBC has AFR model 1006 heads 64cc , valve relief flat pistons, Edlebrock RPM Air Gap, double pumper 750 Holley, 1.6Rockers

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... You want a cam that builds power up to 5,000 rpms,.....

I believe yer choice of intake is misguided, as it's for higher rpms,....
The carb is bigger than ideal,....
'n yer gear ratio is to low,... should be 1.50:1,....

What's the static compression ratio with those pistons, 'n heads,..??

Be sure to use a oil That is Designed for flat tappets sliding on the cam surfaces. I can not recall the special additive / type of oil grade.

You will want to make sure you have the marine intake. Also, run a 2" carb spacer

Thanks for the reply 10:1 compression, I also forgot to add it’s a deep v hull, on the ratio adding B7 prop can off set?

Look at the link in my sig. One of the links in the first post has me using the XM264H on my 1988 AQ271 and DP290a1 drive. Your motor should have the posts machined to run roller cam

You may want to relook. Your at 9.4:1 unless you decked the block
