Hi all,
I'm looking into a used Tahoe 195 OB, wondering what size powerplant to strap on
I see many of the 195OBs came with 150 Optis and I was hoping I could get some feedback from anyone owning this exact setup on what MPH they're getting WOT.
I've searched back a couple years and couldn't find any performance measures I'm looking for. Actually, I found 1 thread talking about getting 50 mph with the 190hp I/O and a 24 pitch prop, but only 42-44 with a 19.
We are a family of barefooters, and the heaviest among us tops 210, so I need top end of 50-52, and I don't think I'll get that out of a V-6. Am I wrong?
I currently own a 1988 Chaparral 2100SX 5.7L Mercruiser Alpha One and it'll do 52 with 1/4 tank and only 2 passengers...48 is more common. I can barefoot at 48 but it's spongy, would rather be at 51-52.
Soooo....long story longer.....any Tahoe 195 OB owners out there who can tell me what performance they get from the 150 Opti and/or whatever other powerplant you have (175 e-tec?).
Thanks all! Great forum here, glad I found it!
