Re: Calling all MidWest Boaters
Our primary boating spot is Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri (LOO) because we have a condo there and really enjoy the lake?s atmosphere and the boating is great outside of summer weekend daytime crowds. Great water, lots of coves to hang in, and very scenic areas (Oh, Yeah, Party Cove is Very Cool, Too.)
Living in St. Louis we do occasionally launch our 17? runabout on the Alton pool of the Mississippi River. It?s a scenic area and big enough to have an easy cruise and chill on a sandbar. Nice to have that boating spot for a weekend that we could not get to LOO.
I would like to see some comments about Lake Kincaid (NW of Carbondale, IL) and Cedar Lake (SW of Carbondale, IL). Both are close enough to visit on an afternoon as an alternate to the Alton Pool Can somebody advise about launch ramps lines; good spots for evening supper; especially scenic spots, etc.
