Calling all Enrolled Agents

I received a call from someone saying they were with the IRS and they needed to verify some information. Every other time I have been in communication with them it has been in writing. Is this something the IRS would do?

Sounds like the phishing attempt phone calls we handle 10X\day. We even get them on the Police Department internal lines.
