Re: California sued over wind generators

You are quite mistaken if you think that environment protection minded people are exclusively democratic.Jeb Bush did not want the oil companies to drill off the Florida coast, which would have been a lot cheaper than Alaska. He obviously cares about the environment.Or...It is like anything else with people who do want the energy to be clean ,but no production in their backyard.
The Brits came up with a fair solution.Building wind power stations off shore behind the horizon.Clean energy and you dont see where it comes from.
Boomyal, about your using PW2 and myself to symbolize "whacko liberalism".You should post that picture of yourself with the cannon straddled over your belly. It speaks chapters about the usefulness of your ideas.

Originally posted by JasonJ:
Hate to break it to ya Blade, but some shrieky extremist website is not indicative of an entire party's mindset or "agenda". Posting things like this is exactly why there is so much division. you are just begging for someone to post a link to some extreme right wing website that is just as incoherent and idiotic (and they are out there). In reality, you are no better than the leftist extremists who call the right a bunch of money grubbing narrow minded churchy hicks. If you want to represent your party with integrity, then act accordingly. Otherwise, you are no better than those who you are pointing out.

I have a lot of friends in both parties, and none of them act the way they are made out to on this forum. If I were to fall victim to every bit of shreiky rhetoric that is posted here or elswhere, I would have no friends at all. Just be realistic, the generalizations on this forum are 100% biased and ill informed, and are not indicative of what is really happening out there. Thats what you get for listening to the media and talk radio, both of which are competing for the fragile weak minded....
Ive been a moderator at a couple of conservative discussion forums. Ive seen it ALL. The left is disgustingly vile and evil. They are just plain not to be trusted. Take your eyes off of them for half a second and they will have *********s, rapists and murderers not only out of jail early but living next door to you and me. Give them half a chance and they will vote to take awy not only our guns but our freedoms and everything we have worked so hard our entire lives for. Socialism is the shortcut to success for lazy people. One question I will ask you is why does the dem party never ever say a bad word about democratic underground, moveone.org, indy media or any of a dozen other disgusting lefist groups? Sorry I dont buy what youre selling.

I rest my case. PW and Rolmops to a T. It's just that they like to represent themselves as mainstream-middle of the road. This list, taken as a whole, is pretty whacko, IMHO.

Bladex, your message comes straight out of "Mein Kampf" and your choice of words is eerily reminiscent of the author of that book.
In the land of the free everybody has freedom and words like yours are the beginning of the way to totalitarian rule,As has been proven in Europe 70 years ago.
I respect conservatives for their opinions, but most conservatives that I know, would absolutely refuse to have any connection whatsoever with what you preach.
What you preach is hatred.

'

rolmops,

While I agree that BladeX's words are extreme and I can see the Mein Kampf connection which I have in my hand, I think that his statements, if taken out of the Mein Kampf context, are not that far off.

I would rephrase lines like "The left is disgustingly vile and evil. They are just plain not to be trusted." and "Socialism is the shortcut to success for lazy people." to something like:

The extreme left has no idea how their views can result in vile and evil things in this country. Their belief that they are helping the downtrodden insulates them from truly understanding what can become of the changes they trumpet. Ultimately the freedoms they believe the extreme right wants to remove from this country are precisely what their opposite and supposedly compassionate views would cause if allowed to progress further.

Is that any better?

BladeX,

I don't believe that you are as nasty or evil as rolmops has contended, I do however think that extreme language results in alienation from those who need to contemplate the peril of the extreme left. I also believe that your quotes can then become fodder for their attacks on conservatives, which is the opposite of what you want. ;)

Personally, I believe that the extreme left feels they are justified in all of their views because they are smarter than the rest of us and we don't know any better. Also, extremely dangerous thinking . . .

Re: California sued over wind generators

Kagee, I am definately hearin' what you are sayin'. I am just as appalled by the left leadership as I am the right. My only point to Blade was his lumping everyone in to one stereotype is exactly the narrow, squinty viewpoint that is what is ruining our fine nation. Is he entitled to his opinion? You betchya. Is he going to be called out on it when he chooses to post such things on a public forum? You betchya. I am just not going to stand by and let my fellow Americans be treated like this. I could give a rip if someone is a Dem or a Rep. The generalizations people like Blade made is both damaging and only goes to show their intellectual enlightenment or lack thereof.

I am just continually amazed at what is percieved by some compared to the real world. I have met literally hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of people, from every faith, financial level, and political orientation. I can only think of a mere handful that seemed like they would spew the ignorant hate that I see spewed here on occasion. The rest are just good people who are making a way for themselves.

Lets be honest people, it really doesn't matter what political party the politicians are, it matters the kind of PERSON they are. If they are the kind who will push personal agendas under the guise of the common good, while drunk with power, they are not fit for their position. We can only look to our political history and see that most politicians had some tendencies to be less than honorable.

But I also understand why people like Blade say the things they say. Nothing is relevant except what they know. The best comparison I can make is when people are very young. They think if they cover their eyes, no one can see them. This trickles into adulthood for some, they think that if they don't know it, it isn't real. Well, it is real, whether you accept it or not. Hence, my beliefs on religion and God. Just because I may not believe doesn't mean it isn't there, and I accept the possibility of God just as much as the possibility of the Big Bang.

And for the record, the thing with the wind farms is just another clear example of just plain ignorance. If a few birds have to die for the pursuit of clean energy, so be it. We hit all sorts of animals in our cars, are we supposed to stop driving?

I used to believe like that, but now know it is not true. What matters is what policies they support and what their party can or would do. I hate it, but party politics are what we need to watch, understand and support. The party has the power, not usually the individual candidate. It doesn't matter that Clinton is a crappy husband. It doesn't matter that George Bush says stupid stuff. It matters what policies he supports and what his party can get across in the way of legislation. I am not a registered Republican or Democrat because I used to think like you. Fact is that I now know it is a weak position . . .

This is not a vote doesn't count thing. It is that the character of a candidate doesn't really matter unless all other things are equal. It is the type of Judges he/she will select, the type of policies that his/her party will try and adopt. Right now the Republicans scare me way less than any Democrat and in fact they actually believe in a lot of things that I do. So I vote Republican, period. I want them in control.

Re: California sued over wind generators

I'm not for mincing words, so I have to ask why some think Blade X is "extreme" or "scary" ? It is the left that are thinking that freedom OF religion is the same thing as freedom FROM religion. It is leftists that want to remove any word or sign of GOD from our country. It is the left that want to do away with the death penalty. It is that leftist 9th circuit court of idiots that recently ruled that parents have no rights to oversee what their children learn. It is the left that keeps trying to shove down our throats gay rights and protection for gays. Anytime there has been a mass release from prison....it has been at the hands of a leftist. Sorry if this is calling it like it is...sorry if it makes some people uncomfortable...it's true.

My point was only that posting what some may consider extreme limits the distance your messages will travel. It doens't matter if the message is correct or written as intended, what I think you want is people to ponder the ideas . . . I have left some seemingly innocuous posts that have driven others to dismiss my point. How does that help me or the reader?

Wow JasonJ good read well said.
I thought rolmops had miss spelled something (Mein Kampf)
Looks like german for main camp if so that might be scary

Now Sieg heil

waterone1
Well said and I fully agree but one of the reasons I like good talking forums that are not just name calling and rants is that I often get a different take on things, that I would have never thought about.

Now I have two things to look up
Sieg heil and Mein Kampf

I really do need to get out from under my rock more often ;)

Im "scary" cuz I dont parrot their talking points. I think that the left is so used to having people kow tow to their disgusting political correctness that when someone doesnt toe the line they feel compelled to attempt to denounce and discredit them anyway they can. Trust me Im no nazi. Im more a libertarian than anything if it comes right down to it. I guess that my "problem" is that I call it like I see it. And I think you are right on the money waterone1.

Water, its not that Blade's comments are scary, I think he has a valid point to make. I just think he can express himself in a better way that can allow more people to understand what he is saying and not get put off by it. All too often people have a good message but they cloud it with poor delivery. But heck, what do I know, I'm just another person giving another opinion.

Im not here to convert anyone. I just call BS when I see it. And I dont remember seeing anything in the forum rules when I registered (and I did read them) about playing political correctness games to make libs feel better. Sorry.
