Gov. muscle is holding a "closed door" clemency hearing for founder of "Crips" convicted of 4 murders. Some say he is now a good guy. I do not believe in overriding a jury verdict unless new evidence that the crime was not committed is involved. How about you folks.

Re: California Clemency

My reason for supporting the death penalty is to permanently remove a threat to society and save the taxpayers the expense of housing the perp for life. It is not about "punishment" in my book.

That said, Freeing him is out of the question so frying him is the remaining option.

Careful JB that is close to my thoughts. First thing you know I will make a liberal out of you. You know it is in your blood cause all educators are liberals at heart look at our college campuses.

txs,

You better keep voting repub then . . .

Stanley Williams (I hate that the press uses his cutsie nickname, Tookie) is a cold blooded murderer, was when he did it and still is. No rewind button . . . I believe the death penalty is just. Nothing more, nothing less. The fact that anybody would nominate a monster like that for the Nobel Peace Prize is an indication of how flipped up our society and its individuals can be.

I agree......Fry him extra crispy! I hope the "Governator" has the yarbles to uphold what the jury decided....He needs to pay for what he did then, not who he portrays to be now....I always gotta smile when these types "Find God" and are 'transmorgrified' He was/is a cold blooded killer......I hope he gets what he deserves.....JK

The only problem with the death penalty is the length of time from sentencing to death. One year max. Then fry 'em

T2F,

I disagree only because I don't want to give anybody a chance to second guess capital punishment. Let them have a mandatory review and appeal. There ARE innocent people in prison . . . I want that eliminated from the Capital Punishment discussion as much as possible.

I'm disgusted with the Governator for even considering clemency.

Maybe I'll make a libertarian out of you, txs. :)

If we agree, that is good, but I consider our shared position quite conservative.

Latex Amphi, I hate myself for this but I agree with you 100%. Perferred response from him would be he decided his own fate and the jury has ruled in his favor, who am I to overturn the decision of 12 citizens just like me.

The murderer of my sisters has exhausted his last appeal. There are no words to describe what I would feel if the Governator considers clemency.

I agree, he neeeds to fry.
And I agree with JB. It's not about punishment. It's about excising a cancer from society.

Just to be ultra clear as this is a BIG topic, my position is that Capital Punishment is Justice, not punishment. There is a major difference. Justice has a lot more to do with the victims . . .

RF, that was here? When?

I’m of the opinion this ‘governator’ is less likely to do what is popular and more likely to do what he thinks is the right thing.
