Bypassing a Neutral start --- SWITCH ASSY on a 1975

My boat will not start and i am sure it is due to the Neutral start assay deal.. How do I bypass it? this site says it is oppsolete??

Test the switch and if its bad replace it. But it is not a safe thing to do by by passing it.

Bypassing that switch is a very good way to dump somone overboard, or to crash into someone or something as you attempt to start the boat with it in gear. That switch is there for a reason. Fix it. Just because the parts list says obsolete does not mean it is not available from the aftermarket.

To bypass the switch For testing purposes, just hook the two wires going to the switch together.

I had to buy a used complete throttle quadrant to get a switch for mine.

proberly just a micro switch so someone like newark electronics will have something in the same size.
