Buying a boat...but who makes Aquatron??

I am about to buy a 1996 Aquatron 1950lx or buy says it could be a 240lx he is not sure. Title says 1950lx.

He also said Aquatron is made by a sister company of Mastercraft, but doesnt know the name of the sister company...

Can anyone help here, I cant find proof this boat even exists, let alone who made it..

HI.....

this is C & P from a google search.......by the way.....google turned up very little information.

I used to be a partner in a couple of boat stores here locally and we sold these Aquatron's new back then. They were built by a family owned and operated company in GA called S&J manufacturing and they also built Clearawater center consoles and Basstream bass boats (what they were best known for). It is a very deep boat for an 18' and many family's would buy them for that reason, easier to keep the kids in. The extremely deep hull also has a lot of bow flair that makes for a really nice dry ride for only an 18' bowrider.

According to the USCG MIC Database:

Aquatron Marine Products Company, Adel, GA, Out of business on 10/16/1992

It looks like they may have sold out to someone else as there is some evidence of later year models . . .

Update: Found Aquatron as a company owned by by CT&G Imports, Inc, Also "Aqua Images bought assets of Aquatron" Also an owner along the way = John Cutler

CT&G Imports out of business in Sept 2007.

HIN Prefixes: TIF or JSC, depending on year.

I do a little work with MC here in TN. They only have a couple of divisions. This isn't one of them.

Aquatron is made by Aquatron marine products. Phone 912-53-5622. I have a 93 the interior is white and aqua marine. Has a carberated 4.3 Merc. I just rebuilt it and baught a new one. Need info on how and what just hit me. I check back here a couple times a month. I can send pics and all sorts of stuff on my boat. Its all been done up and I will start the fabric next year. Right now its the same as when it went out the door to be sold. I did put in the floor but have pics of all the old floor color the whole works. even how to beam your boat.

Aquatron is by Aquatron marine products ph-912-534-5622. I have a 93 and its original. What I would like to get is a new set of cuddy cushions. I have yet to call the number but I have plenty of pics and info. Right down to how it's wired. Let me know what you need and I will send you what I have. I have a SC2000 1993 20 1/2 ft closed bow Aquatron.
