Have not been in here for a while so just saw this. There was a lot of wood used in boats of that era, so rot is a thing to look for, decks, transom, stringers. You also want to check for age and use damage, wear and tear, if it has been well cared for there may be no problem at all but the chance is there. Probably the best advice to give you is get a survey on the boat you are looking at, surveyors know what to look for and how to check for problems.
