ok, well I've decided that i didn't like the idea of buying seats over the internet and then trying to match the vinyl with my other seats and gunnel walls, so i'm building my own seats and found an upholster who will help me with cushions and vinyl....so since i've already sold my old seats on CL, does anyone know where i can get a pattern for the boxes and seats and where to buy the slider hardware for the lounge seats ? thanks....

Re: building boat seats

hi....welcome to i boats !

are you building back to back lounge seats?
if so....there is not much to them.
the bases are just plywood on edge.

you can fiberglass them to keep the shape and they will last forever. the seats are the same.....one peice of ply for the seat...one for the back....repeat for the rear facing seat and tie them togeather with a piano hinge.

as far as the bottom hard wear...if you build the seats right you wont need it

cheers
