Building a Storage Box/Seat?

I have had this plan to build a storage box that will double as a small seat for awhile now but the weather is just starting to cooperate. I have searched all around the web but still can't find the best way I should go about doing this. I found some marine plywood locally but how should it be sealed and painted. I want this to last so what is the most common method to seal the wood once I have everything cut and assembled?

epoxy resin will seal your wood, and give you a sandable surface to paint it...marine grade wood isn't necessary, go with a decent exterior ply, like auraco ply from lowes.

I replaced a pedestal seat with a box seat with storage. Used exterior plywood, and framed the interior with aluminum angles and bolted Ll together. Very solid.. Seat is removable, I was gonna hinge it it, but ended up just putting stops to keep the seat in place. Primed and painted it, eventually will cover with vinyl. It's been a very handy mod to the boat which needed more storage. Perfect for tools, sprays,
or whatever.
