Building a spark checker

I'm headed out to attempt to build a 6 plug spark checker. Years ago I was in a boat shop and my old bud was using one made out of plexiglass. Somewhere I read about how to remove the metal housing from a spark plug so ceramic w/ electrode could be used to build a spark checker. Also, somewhere in the threads I saw a 2 holer spark checker. Just wondering if anyone has good info on how to build a good spark checker???

nope... got one just like it... ain't worth a toot to me. It will tell if you're getting a trickle of electric current. I want to see SPARKS!!!!.. not some sissy little light burnin'.... hehehe

yup... at would be it what I saw on iboats, well, not zackly but close and purdy much same idea.... but not what my ol' bud had cobbled together. Kinda close tho'... he used 6 spark plugs so he could check anything up to a 6 cylinder.

if you can jump 1/4 in or 6 mm in air then thats ok under cyllinder pressure ..colour of spark does not matter as can be coloured by the metal of the electrodes ...
