Several years ago I bought two trailers for $50. The first I welded up the frame, dropped a $100 tin row boat on it and sold it for $400.

This one laid around until it was decided that it will become a flat bed utility with options. It will carry a Sunfish and a few kayaks when a rack it built.

Hopefully it will be good, bearings were replaced and the deck pieces installed. All the nuts were replaced. It was literally in pieces when brought home.

Will be making a 200 mile run this week to test it out. Over the weekend it will be hopefully be making a 1200 mile run to pick up a frame for my 1962 Land Rover.

If you see this between Michigan and Georgia on the side of the road stop and give some help, please. If it's rolling just toot your horn and say hello. 🤣

That looks like it could be on the Red Green show if you added a lot of duct tape!

Cool repurpose!

Nice re-do and it can be converted back to tote boats if needed.

Where about in Georgia, 64? Just might know some members there.

No duct tape used, so far!

Thanks, hope to come up with a removable rack for the kayaks. Then it could be used for multiple purposes.

Will be staying in New Hope TN where my better half has family. The Rover frame is in Suches, GA, which appears to be close to nothing. o_O

Don't get lost! The Chattahoochee isn't far away, but I am. LOL

Depending on which route you use between New Hope and Suches, it's possible you may be following your trailer through some of curves. Or as my bride said once - Are you trying to kill me! That's the problem with a flat-lander and mountain roads. :)

LOL ... yeah, that's a twisty area around New Hope. But, holy wow is it pretty that way.

If you want a nice place to stay in that area, look up Paridise Point Resort. I little pricey for a small group, but the large places can hold 4 or 5 couples and it works out great. The driveway is scary but the views are fantastic.IMG_20200911_082221.jpg

We had a successful trip! Traveled just over 1500 miles total, to the middle of nowhere and back.

When your GPS shows 60 miles / 132 minutes, or 15 miles / 37 minutes with zero traffic, your in for a twisty turny ride. Absolutely beautiful part of the country. Could hold the 90+ degree heat though.

The trip was great for many reasons.

My better half was able to be with her sister on her sister's birthday for the first time since I have know her. That would be 25 years. We also saw many aunt's and uncle's, a few cousin's and a few other relatives.

When I arrived at the sellers location and inspected the frame, all looked good. I went to my truck and pulled out my stash of cash. When pulling out the C notes the gentleman calmly stated, " oh no, there is no need for that. I just wanted to make sure it went to good use and was not scrapped". I was stunned. For reference a new frame cost $3,500. This was not new, but looks to be in excellent condition.

I have to give credit to my son, for he found this frame and set all this in motion.

The down sides of the trip are I lost my license plate somewhere today and 2 running light bulbs stopped working. All told a very nice trip.😎

That is awesome! Sounds like a great trip all around! My last 2500 mi road trip I lost a transmission about 80 miles from home (return trip). Your trip definitely wins!

The frame looks like a Mack truck frame! Can't beat the price, either.
