Looks good as new.
Did you use any resin in glass or just trowel in the job weld?
JB Weld (as the resin) and CSM (fiberglass chopped strand mat) covered it with plastic wrap (Saran wrap) to make it lie flat and smooth.

This one is completely broken off. I called my dealer and they said they will check out the lower unit to make sure there is no other damage.. If there is no damage they said they will send it to Mercury to weld a new skeg on.

Estimate for that was $650 with shipping. And 30-45 day lead time.

Looks like the skeg I had welded while I had lunch next door to the marina about 25 years ago. I think I paid $50

Check with your local marina

There are two places that I can go to. One of them said they dont weld and the other guy gave me a run down how this whole thing needs to be one solid peace. Suggesting a new lower unit.

Are there any Prop Rebuilders nearby. They often do a booming Skeg Repair Business in addition to Prop Repair...

Based on the picture, you did a really nice job breaking off the skeg . . . hardly any left.

It may be a more challenging thing to fix given how close the weld will be to the gearcase.

They said they will grind off whats left and weld directly onto the gearcase…
