brass water inlet to exhaust riser broken off flush. any secrets to get it out. friends boat.

Big EZ out will work. Also, try tapping the end of a flat ******* file into it with a hammer. You can then grip the file with an adjustable wrench and back it out that way.<br /><br />Oh yeah, heat is your friend. Use a torch to heat manifold and it'll help as well. That said, getting brass out of iron is about the easiest of these sorts of tasks.

couldn't find big EZout. torched broke 2 files. ground down mini flatbar, no luck. took dremel tool with titanium striaght bit and cut brass in 3 pieces. then knocked them out. someone had use locktite.

Tash: <br />HELLO<br />Never try to use an EZ out,it will expand in the fitting and make it harder to get out. You did well<br />by cutting it that way.I had a master plumber tell us that in class. He said if you snap a pipe off the end of a casting you can remove it by taking a hacksaw blade and cut from the inside of the pipe down to where the casting threads show. Do this in 3 <br />or 4 spots. Then take a small punch and peel away the pipe from the casting. GOOD JOB!<br /><br /><br />The Beef :D
