Picked this up the other day. 18' Glastron with 302 Ford (running) and a Volvo Penta 270 sterndrive. Floor feels solid but transom is starting to rot so will disassemble and replace all rotton wood. Hull is in good shape with the exception of the normal dock rash.

Re: Bringing back to life 1974 Glastron

Today I got the stern drive pulled off. It will need replaced as it had many cracks that were fixed by jb weld. Also pulled the rubrail off and got the 2 halves seperated, will try to pull the cap off this weekend. Got all the interior pulled out. The floor has been replaced before but I pulled up one piece and the stringers are black and rotten so everything will end up getting replaced.

Re: Bringing back to life 1974 Glastron

Havnt got much done on the boat lately.....rebuilt the carb and trying to get it fine tuned to make it run better. Now in the process of buying a house so time will be limited along with funds. Will work on it a little at a time and hopefully get her done someday:D

EDIT: I found out the motor had a cracked block. With it needing a new drive in motor I figured it was best to part with it and find something else as drivetrain parts are expensive.
