I'm not sure there are any "Briggs Guru's" here, but if you post up a pic of the fitting, someone should be able to identify it. What is there, something like 4-5 different (maybe a couple more) marine fuel line quick disconnects?
FWIW, I wouldn't buy a Mallory quick disconnect fitting. I bought one and it only lasted a couple trips before the Oring inside it failed. Luckily, I had the old fitting on board and swapped it back over, problem fixed with the old part![]()
Just found this thread and I was wondering the same thing. I hope one of those fits cause I'm wanting to get my boat going soon.
Is this true for this motor or does an evinrude/johnson work? I have recently came across one of these and want to use it but the female adapter on the fuel line at the motor leaks. Everything I have seen it looks as though it is the same as i see for the evinrudes. It seems others have used that and it works and I am just trying to verify it.The guy at the local marine dealer told me that the fitting is unique to Briggs (I had already tried an Evinrude; not even close).

UPDATE:
103 for new complete line from BS. which is BS!!
I tried the Evinrude and it leaked. I bought a set (male and female) of Merc fittings and they work fine. But this year I needed to replace all the fuel lines in the motor. Two years ago I swapped out the rev limiter, and also had to go deep into the linkage to get reverse working again. It is a fine motor when it is running, but it has been high maintenance.
